I recently presented a paper on my game Hannah: A Friend in Need and my PhD Research at the 2021 ANROWS Research Conference.

Games and Learning Alliance Conference 2020

On the 10th of December, I exhibited my game Hannah: A Friend in Need at the Games and Learning Alliance (GALA)’s 2020 conference.

GALA 2021 is an international conference dedicated to the science and application of serious games… organised by the Serious Games Society.

The GALA Conference used a virtual world platform which meant we were able to present our games and posters in real-time through avatars. Whilst this meant a 2am wakeup for me in Australia I think it worked really well!

Women in Games Ambassador!

I am proud to announce that I have been appointed an International Women in Games Ambassador! Ambassadors have been appointed all around the world and are responsible for promoting diversity in the games industry and creating events and initiatives in this area.

Ambassadors are vital to communicating and raising awareness of our mission to achieve full parity of opportunity and equity of treatment for all female identifying persons working, or wanting to work, in the games industry and esports.

Women in Games

I’m so excited to a part of this amazing program and I can’t wait to help programs like this to create a more diverse games industry!

ABC News: Adelaide women develop mobile game tackling domestic violence, teaching family and friends how they can help

I was interviewed by Dana Morse from ABC News 24 on television today about my game Hannah: A Friend In Need. ABC also published an article based on the interview.

Hannah is a chatbot-style game designed to help strengthen support for victim-survivors of Domestic Violence (DV) by raising awareness of how DV can affect those experiencing it, as well as highlighting the support provided by informal support networks such as family and friends.
