Student Project: Old Adelaide Gaol

As a part of the final capstone course in the Games Design & Production Major at UniSA, Games Production Industry Lab, students take part in an immersive game design project as a part of UniSA Game Lab.

In Game Lab, we work with a client and undertake an intensive 10-week part-time dev cycle to ideate, design, develop and ship a complete game! This semester we are working with the Old Adelaide Gaol to develop a game that engages the player in the gaol visitor experience, and communicates some of the history and stories of those who lived inside of the gaol walls.

I’m so looking forward to being a part of such an interesting and unique project!

Unreal Short Film Challenge: Education Edition

Students at University of South Australia are taking part in the Epic Games Short film challenge using Unreal 5 to make a film!

The project will be managed by Associate Professor Kath Dooley, Danny Ward and myself, and involves several industry mentors including ModelFarm, Jonathan Kovarch, Josh McLean, Phil Van Hout, Yogi Devgan. We are also lucky to have the Unreal team providing resources and support to help our students’ vision come to life inside the engine!

Follow the students’ Instagram where they plan to share the film’s progress and development.

I can’t wait to see the final result!
